Intro to Herbalism Program
Engage with the plants and learn how to harvest and prepare your own herbal remedies.
Service Description
This Introduction to Herbalism program is for those who want to connect with the plants in a way that remembers and honours our ancestral relations with them. We will be learning practical skills for working with herbs as medicine, right out in the garden with the plants themselves. Each month Nikola and Heather will lead you in connecting with a few focus herbs, learning about their medicinal qualities and how they grow. We will learn how to harvest these herbs for medicine, and how to prepare them, in a way that is safe, effective, respectful and replicable. This program is focused on training home and community-based herbalists to feel confident with tonics, nutritives, immune supports and first-aid herbs that can help us in everyday life. Participants will go home with a home-made remedy each month (all herbs, supplies and ingredients included). This program is intended to grow community, deepen your practice with herbs, and stock your medicine cabinets with remedies you've prepared yourself. Join us for one Saturday a month from July - November at the farm and herb studio, located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and Attawandaron peoples. This is a small-group program, so space is limited. Monthly payment plans are available! . No one is turned away due to cost. BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ most welcome. We look forward to gathering with you!
